I am not very interested in politics,but there is a theory that I have full faith in.The politicians of a country are a reflection of the citizens of that country.After spending 18 summers in this beautiful country ,my faith in this theory has only strengthened.
I am in IIT,a place which makes news in this country every other day for some or the other reason.The one which threatened to affect my life the most was the 27% OBC quota,the subsequent rise in the number of seats and the fear of losing one of the biggest brands in the country,IIT and IITIANS.
The Arjun Singh proposal was made just before the end of my class eleventh.My first reaction was ,"Damn It!!!What if the seats for us go down".Thanks to the vociferous protests
by the medical students and a group called BROTHERS OF EQUALITY,the entire process got delayed by a year.Now ,with no quotas,the number of seats remained the same,and,I luckily made it.Then,the proposal gained momentum again.I remember ,Ankit Shubham ,a good friend of mine ,here in IIT,saying,"Ab to main IIT mein hoon,mujhe kya farak padhta hai".
MUJHE FARAK PADHTA HAI ,Isaid.
Recently ,while discussing world issues,something that is done when one has no bloody other business to do,another friend said SAALE !!POLITICIANS NE DESH BIGAD DIYA.I asked ."TU ISKE BAAD KYA KARNA CHAHTA HAI?He replied, "US mein research".
All students in IIT,whose parents "combined " income is less than Rs 2,00,000,are entitled to a MERIT CUM MEANS scholarship.A friend of mine asked me "KUM INCOME LIKHNE SE PROBABILITY SCHOLARSHIP MILNE KI BADH JAATI HAI ,KYA".I asked ,"Tere pass SONY VAIO LAPTOP HAI,N95 HAI,U BLOODY FLY HOME,YOU DID TWO YEARS COACHING IN KOTA(which means an expenditure of atleast three lakhs),AND YOU ARE ASKING FOR MCM".
Who is at fault for this fucked up state of our beautiful country.Gandhiji said ignorance is the biggest enemy of the country.I say it is GREED.When will WE give One fucking thought for the poor state of things in our country.
WHAT DO I WANNA DO AFTER GRADUATION????
MAY BE MBA AND THEN A JOB IN US.

The things might not be hunky dory in the USA but atleast they have an effective system in place that takes care of corruption. We need a system that does not depend on people.
